Spotlight: The Growing Demand for World-Class Manufacturing Facilities in Ireland

Ireland has cemented its reputation as a global manufacturing hub, attracting leading companies in pharmaceuticals, technology, advanced manufacturing and data centres. The country’s highly skilled workforce and pro-business environment has driven significant investment in manufacturing operations.

As demand continues to grow, the need for state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities has never been greater. Companies require environments that support innovation, precision, and scalability while adhering to stringent sustainability and regulatory standards.

The TSL Ireland team are extremely well placed to meet this demand and, as such, were immensely proud to deliver a State-of-the-Art Soft Drinks Concentrate Manufacturing Facility in Athy in 2024.

TSL managed the entire process on behalf of our client from the initial concept design through to detailed civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical coordination. This included the submission of a full Planning Application, Fire Safety Certificate application and Building Control Application for the construction of the scheme. Whilst constructing the new extension, we successfully worked alongside our client’s live facility, their operational and logistics teams and maintained a fully operational facility to food grade standards.

Early phases consisted of the demolition of existing warehouse and ancillary buildings. We also completed upgrade works, and fitout works to a further existing facility while maintaining full operation.

Further phases of work involved the Design & Build of a state of the art 110,000 sq ft, 3 storey extension incorporating warehouse space, food process areas, loading and unloading facilities, staff offices, and plant rooms. It also included the demolition of an existing effluent treatment plant and reconstruction of a new WWTP; installation of new sprinkler storage tanks and pump house, inclusive of a full utility coordination and ESB Substation and undergrounding of existing ESB power lines.
