Introduction

The Netherlands is a highly strategic market with a rapidly expanding construction sector, particularly across the logistics, data centre, and pharmaceutical industries. The country also continues to lead in renewable energy development and forward-thinking, sustainable building practices.

Logistics and cold-storage businesses are benefiting from the Netherlands’ strong supply-chain distribution network. Its extensive port facilities, along with advanced road and rail infrastructure, continue to drive growth across the industrial logistics sector.

The Netherlands is also playing a central role in the development of robust digital infrastructure. Our teams are proud to be delivering data centres that help ensure the country remains a key hub for digital growth in Mainland Europe.

The pharmaceutical industry continues to thrive due to the Netherlands’ highly skilled workforce and strong academic and research institutions, supporting the construction of cutting-edge manufacturing and R&D facilities.

Spotlight: Cold Chain Logistics

TSL served as the main contractor on a design-andbuild contract for a 60,000m² cold store project in the Netherlands. We are overseeing the external works, sub- and superstructure, envelope, and internal fit-out, while also coordinating with specialist client-direct contractors. The building is a highly automated storage facility designed to maintain temperatures as low as –28°C to meet the client’s precise cooling requirements.

Cold chain infrastructure is crucial across the Netherlands due to the country’s role as a major gateway for perishable goods entering Europe. With the Port of Rotterdam and a sophisticated national transport network for moving fresh food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals, efficient cold chain systems are essential.

Maintaining strict temperature control from arrival to final delivery ensures product integrity, protects public health, and reduces waste. As demand for fresh and temperaturesensitive goods continues to grow, investment in resilient and sustainable cold-chain logistics facilities will remain vital to meet market expectations.

At TSL, we are proud to be contributing to the development of this critical infrastructure in the Netherlands.
